Unexplained Infertility in Las Vegas: Why There Is Always a Next Test
You were told everything looks normal. Your FSH, your lining, your tubes, your partner’s semen analysis — all of it “fine.” And then you were handed a label that is not a diagnosis: unexplained infertility.
I do not treat that label as the end of the conversation. In my clinic, unexplained usually means the next test has not been run yet.
I know what that stall feels like. I had three miscarriages. Nobody could tell me why, or what to do about it. Wait and see. That helplessness is why I start with your bloodwork, not your odds.
There is always a next test
The appointment most women describe to me is the same one. Someone looked at a short panel, gave you a percentage, and moved you toward the next protocol. Nobody asked what you eat, how you sleep, how hard you are training, or what your stress actually looks like.
I review all of your bloodwork and fertility testing, order anything that is missing, and go through your results and your daily life with you line by line. Not a summary. Line by line.
Tests that often never got run
The simple tests that would explain a great deal often sit at the base of the work, not at the top:
- A full thyroid panel — not TSH alone
- Anemia and iron stores
- Clotting patterns
- Endometritis (inflammation of the lining — not the same as endometriosis)
- Endometriosis when pain, heavy periods, or a suggestive history was never taken seriously
- Inflammation, blood sugar, and the rest of the picture your ovaries are living in
I am not your reproductive endocrinologist. I do not replace indicated medical testing, or IVF when that is the right next step. I make sure the foundations that decide egg quality, implantation, and whether a pregnancy can hold were actually looked at before we chase another protocol.
Your Fertility Pyramid
Because so many factors impact fertility, we rebuild from the ground up. If you think of your health and fertility as a pyramid, fertility sits at the apex — the highest state of your health, not a side project off to the left of it.
Your lifestyle is the foundation. Thyroid, iron, clotting, gut, immune function, sleep, and stress sit in the middle. Eggs and lining sit at the top. If the levels underneath are not built, nothing you pour into the top can hold.
That is why supplements alone rarely move the needle. You can spend hundreds of dollars a month on CoQ10 and a good prenatal, and if your thyroid is sluggish or your gut is inflamed, most of it never reaches the eggs you bought it for.
Acupuncture and lifestyle changes are equals in this work. Lifestyle is the foundation — how you eat, sleep, move, and manage stress — so acupuncture can rebalance hormones, address the specific fertility issue, and tie everything together. Both are critical.
The 90 day window
The egg you will ovulate three months from now started developing today. An immature follicle takes about 90 days to become an ovulated egg. Your cycle is only the last month of that process.
Ninety days is the window for maximal change. That is not the only useful window. Every acupuncture treatment still helps. If you are already in an IVF cycle, still come in. It is never too late to start.
What “unexplained” is not
There is no such diagnosis as “unknown causes” in Chinese medicine: there is always a pattern, and we can treat the pattern. That is not the same as promising a pregnancy. I cannot promise you a pregnancy, and I will not.
What I can do is stop treating a missing workup as a mystery, and give you a plan for the 90 days your eggs are already developing in.
If recurrent loss is part of your picture, start on recurrent miscarriage support. If you already have a cycle on the calendar, see IVF support. The full map is on fertility care.

Common questions
Does unexplained infertility mean nothing is wrong?
It means the tests that were run did not show a cause. That is not the same as “nothing is driving this.” In my practice, the next step is a fuller workup — thyroid, anemia, clotting, lining inflammation, and the lifestyle picture — before we treat the label as the answer.
What tests do you look for first?
I start with the records you already have. Then I look for what is missing: a full thyroid panel, iron stores, clotting, endometritis, and whether endometriosis was ever seriously considered. I order what is missing and walk the results with you line by line.
Can I do this if I am not in Las Vegas?
Hands-on treatment is in clinic. If you are not local, start with the free Fertility Reset Roadmap — five emails on the mistakes I see most often — and contact me if a consult still makes sense.
Will you talk me out of IVF?
No. I am not here to talk you out of your RE. I am here to make sure the eggs they retrieve, or the cycle you try next, happen on a body whose foundations were actually checked.
